Who will be next?

Multiple reports and reviews have been conducted both domestically and internationally into jumps racing, which outline the dangers these events pose for horses.

Boden (2006), Pinchbeck (2003) and others have written scientific reports relating to risk factors associated with thoroughbred and jumps racing.3,4 In addition, Racing Victoria Ltd has conducted reviews into the sport. Thoroughbred Racing New Zealand also commissioned its own review into the health of jumps racing in 2006.

Despite recommendations to modify jumps or stop the sport outright, jumps racing and therefore horse injuries and deaths have continued.
